InfoComm Mexico 2019 grows threefold in its commercial exhibit and educational offering.

InfoComm Mexico included the programming of DataNet and TecnoTelevision in order to create an engaging space of technological convergence with over 110 exhibitors and 70 educational conferences for 5,788 attendants. Next stop for InfoComm is Bogota, Colombia in October 2019.

The ninth edition of InfoComm Mexico has now ended, it left a positive outcome after presenting a wider variety of exhibiting companies, a robust educational program with over 70 specialized conferences and the simultaneous implementation of DataNet Mexico and the TecnoTelevision Congress Mexico. This couple of parallel events were the perfect match for the display of brands, products and services, as they opened possibilities for new commercial relations between participants. InfoComm Mexico 2019 took place from August 14th through 16th at the WTC Mexico City and gathered an audience of over 5,788 people.

In this occasion, the exhibit floor for the three simultaneous events had over 110 exhibitors on a 75,350 square feet area, which is quite an achievement for the organizers.

“From the first edition, the event has been growing at a nice pace, expanding both the exhibit space and the amount and quality of educational programs. We work towards broadening the event and being able to engage with additional technology markets such as networking, data centers and structured wiring through DataNet Mexico’s portfolio. This year, we also incorporated video broadcasting and production by hosting the first edition of TecnoTelevision Mexico” says Victor Alarcon, Project Manager for InfoComm Latin America.

As usual, the educational program was of great interest, as it had the attendance of academic experts and professional associations, as well as specialists from several AV integration companies, IT, TV production and digital media. A total of 1,675 people participated in over 70 conference sessions that were held by InfoComm, DataNet and TecnoTelevison.

“The educational program has been key, because it grants an opportunity to catch up with the latest technologies and trends, and helps us understand how the market’s behavior will be like in the near future. In the last 3 years, along with AVIXA, we have set a special emphasis on vertical markets and applications such as Digital Signage, AV technology for houses of worship, Smart Home, Unified Communications or Control Rooms” declares Victor Alarcon.

The TecnoTelevision Congress focuses on trends and solutions for the production of AV contents, signal distribution, video files storage, among other related fields, and it was the most relevant novelty of the event. According to Richard Santa, Coordinator of TecnoTelevision, he decided to join InfoComm because the pairing of both industries is just natural.

“That is why this year we decided to replicate the experience we had in Colombia. Just like the first time, we are satisfied with the results, the conferences that our academic program held on TV production and postproduction were well received; new technologies that show how it will be like in the future” says Richard Santa.

“We reached the set goals. Results were positive; the profile of the attendant was the right one, people showed interested on the subjects we addressed and our concept will be better known each time”, summarizes Santa.

On the other hand, DataNet Mexico – the Exhibit and Congress of Networks, Voice and Data Technologies aimed for designers, installers, integrators, manufacturers and final users of the IT sector – added another year as part of the event.

According to Alejandra Garcia, Project Manager for DataNet Mexico, the 2019 edition left the organizers very satisfied, as it improved the exhibition in every way, from the number of exhibitors to the design they had for their booths, everything was better. “It’s the second edition of this independent event as an ally to InfoComm. From day one we had an excellent attendance with a continuous flow of people, our exhibitors made great contacts and had important conversations with them” says Garcia.

“About the academic side of things, we enhanced the program and we held the conferences on the same floor as the exhibit, so it was easier for attendants to benefit from the 13 conferences we had. Besides, we had exclusive four-hour specialty courses on Data Centers and Passive Optical Networks, subjects that are becoming of high interest for training within the industry” added Alejandra García.

According to the organizers, it was a good idea to hold the three events simultaneously, as these industries evidently converge and the different technologies, concepts and trends begin to intertwine. As an example, a Digital Meeting Room requires AV integration and at the same time, network infrastructure, voice and data over IP; and the creation and broadcasting of contents is part of the communication processes that today’s world expects for any commercial activity, whether it is for educational or entertainment purposes.

“Thanks to the great response we had from exhibitors when applying and reserving their booths for 2020, the tenth edition of InfoComm Mexico is a sure thing. It is the largest convention in the region and we still have a lot of growing to do. Mexican economy’s stability gives us confidence to go on. The AV integration industry is in a stage of serious development and growth, we have the commitment to show its benefits to new clients and users, as these technologies will allow us to be more productive, to communicate and understand each other better, besides generating savings in many ways”, concludes Victor Alarcon of InfoComm Latin America.

The next edition of the event will be InfoComm Colombia 2019, held between October 23rd and 25th at the Great Hall of Corferias in Bogota, under the joint organization of AVIXA (The Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association) and the AVI Latin America Magazine.

The tenth edition of InfoComm Mexico is scheduled for August 19th through 21st of 2020, at the WTC Mexico City.
